Atlanta, GA – Shine2Inspire is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Agnes Scott College, a nationally recognized leader in women’s education and social mobility. This collaboration, launching in honor of International Women’s Day, will expand ShineU’s mission of empowering women in STEM through entrepreneurship and business ownership.
Agnes Scott College students will now have access to the ShineU 8-week business ownership and entrepreneurship internship, a hands-on opportunity designed to integrate scientific expertise with financial and business acumen. This initiative aligns with Shine2Inspire’s vision of bridging the wealth gap through entrepreneurship, equipping the next generation of women leaders with the tools they need to succeed in business.
Empowering Women in STEM and Business
ShineU and Agnes Scott College share a commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and career advancement for women. As a top performer in social mobility, Agnes Scott College continues to open doors for women in traditionally male-dominated industries. Through this partnership, students will gain real-world experience, working alongside industry leaders to develop skills in business operations, financial management, and strategic growth.
A Strategic Collaboration for Lasting Impact
This partnership was spearheaded through discussions with Dr. Jennifer Larimore, Chair of the Neuroscience Department and Director of the Artificial Intelligence Minor at Agnes Scott College. Recognizing the need for cross-disciplinary learning, Dr. Larimore emphasized the importance of equipping science majors with entrepreneurial skills to help them navigate the evolving job market.
“Faculty advisors at Agnes Scott College are excited to share with our students the amazing collaboration with ShineU.” said Dr. Larimore. “We believe our students will gain practical business experience that complements their scientific skills and training. This program will make possible entrepreneurial training for STEM majors that will be valuable in their careers.”
Mrs. Danesha Smith, Co-Founder and President of Shine2Inspire, also highlighted the significance of this initiative: “By integrating business ownership education with STEM training, we are empowering the next generation of women leaders to take charge of their careers and create opportunities for themselves and their communities.”
Looking Ahead
The first cohort of Agnes Scott College students will join ShineU’s internship program in Summer 2025, participating in immersive, hands-on business training that includes mentorship, real-world case studies, and capstone projects. This experience will prepare them to apply their scientific expertise in entrepreneurial ventures, corporate leadership, and beyond.
